Memorial Scholarships
To provide scholarships for Sterling residents who are entering a
post-secondary educational program |

Sterling EMS, Inc., incorporated in 1956, provides scholarships for Sterling
residents pursuing a career in a medically-related field. Scholarships are
available in amounts of $500 for the Standard scholarship and $1500 for the
Memorial Scholarship. Applicants must be graduates of an accredited high school,
possess a GED or have taken the Commonwealth of Massachusetts test of competency
for home schooled/alternatively schooled individuals.
- Recipients of the Standard Scholarship ($500) shall be Sterling residents.
- Recipients of the Memorial Scholarship ($1500) shall be Sterling residents
who are entering a post-secondary educational program.
Applicants must show acceptance to a post-secondary educational program which
should accompany the application. Successful applicants will receive a check
made out to themselves as well as their school.

2005 First Competitive Scholarships awarded:

Ed McNamara
(center) president of Sterling EMS, Inc. awarded the
organization’s first competitive scholarships to Jennifer McAuliffe
(right) and Jon Richards. Jennifer, a graduate of Wachusett Regional High
School, plans to study accounting at Bentley College and Jon, a graduate
of St. Peter-Marian Central Catholic High School, will study political
science at Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio. Matt Tadry (not
pictured) was awarded a scholarship in support of his paramedic studies at
Quinsigamond College.
